Breezy Oaks RV Park has 156 full hook-up sites now - new streets were built, new sites installed, and the sites across our road were all occupied just 2 weeks ago.
To our delight we have now free view to the woods from our RV patio in the summer. We are parked here annually. Bearing the summer heat and the summer rain, of course, has its rewards. So many improvements were made since we have new ownership, that it is best giving you the link to the flyer of this park. Our site is # 40. The link will open in pdf format, where you can scroll down to the site map, rules and regulations and a city map. breezyoaksrvpark.com/pdf/BreezyOaksSiteMap.pdf

On March 25. 2017 we celebrated our 60th Wedding Anniversary - just with one couple visiting us. The same couple went to the office and told the news there, and the owner Zeke posted it on the bulletin board at the office. We did not want a mass celebration this time, would have been easy with a potluck at the clubhouse.....
The link above does not need much words added here. Whatever someone wants to know about German Christmas Culture - here it is... Enjoy!
We bought a small shed ( 8' x 6' ) from a Park resident who left this place, and our neighbors Bill and Gary helped Dieter to set it on our rented lot. Then Dieter and I drove to Webster to buy some treated lumber, so he could build the little Deck you see. It is removable and is made of 2 pieces. The bench is from the park and the umbrella we had already for a longer time. One year ago we had bought the Grill because our little one was used up. Since we are not driving with our trailer anymore, we could afford the bigger one.
Our trailer storage areas are now almost empty. When we need something even I can find it in the shed easily...... Overall I like our setup, it really feels more like being at home. Our trailer patio has more room now too because of the grill standing on the Deck..... We have only one plant in the front next to the sun shade, and those "Elephant Ears" are growing nicely..... In our age we can have small heath scares, but lately we had to deal with a bigger one.....
While Dieter had a lung function test and lung X-Rays last year, he learned that he has a small nodule in his lung. This resulted in visits at the Pulmonologist's office in Inverness several times, over time in a PET Scan and in several CAT Scans with some months of intervals in between. Finally Dieter agreed to have a lung biopsy done. That afforded drives to Inverness 2 times and a week prior to the biopsy he had to leave out the Blood Thinner tab he takes every morning. We just learned last month that no cancer cells were found. Wow - what a relief that was.... In two weeks I have an appointment in Inverness also, the Surgeon will inspect my mastectomy scars and my overall well-being. The Tamoxifen Tablets prescription has to be renewed after one year taking those. Nothing out of the ordinary in this regard. Besides age-related small pains I fee fine. When we both see our family doctor in Bushnell next month after having blood work done before, we want to ask to extend or semi-yearly appointment to the usual yearly one, we always had. Will see. Florida weather in spring cannot be forecasted 100%. Today it should have been dry. Dieter took the old saved newspapers out and taped them onto the parts he already did in order to prime the roof. He cannot start early because the morning dew covers everything like rain here in the subtropics. When he finished painting, it started to get dark, and about on hour later the rain started - at noon time. Now it is after 2 PM and the rain is gone - but the sun is not out. Dieter can only do a little at a time per day, but some when the truck will look fine again. This year it seems that the monsoon is here early.
The following pictures show my 83 year young husband Dieter in working mode. The second picture is taken through the sun shade. When we sit outside in our entrance area, we still can enjoy the surrounding nature, the tan colored shade keeps it visible. Recently we washed our trailer, took us 2 days, still a little groggy after feeling sick for a longer time. My coughing is gone by now. It is pretty quiet around us - some neighbors left for their home in the North and left their units parked on their sites, and many are still active travelers and want to go places and their sites are empty. We are in the process of getting used to stay in one place. It is the right thing to do......... Not all the sites you see in the site plan of "Breezy Oaks RV Park" above are finished yet, management has a busy summer schedule. The clubhouse is too small for the now bigger place and will be altered, if time allows. In March we both participated at the appreciation dinner provided by manager Mary and were sitting outside. We wish all visitors of this website a wonderful new year, health and happiness.
Breezy Oaks RV Park had a little Parade of Golf Carts and Tricycles on Dec. 23. and Dieter and I were at the sidelines and enjoying it. Picture of it underneath. Time flies - - having doctor's appointments and doing our household and maintenance work around our trailer. On Jan. 23rd we will attend Potluck Dinner, a fish feast with all the trimming. One of the residents is a fisherman and hunter and stays up north to do that, while his wife enjoys being here. He came back before Christmas, his ice chests filled.... I enjoy jigsaw puzzling on my computer, I downloaded an app "Magic JigsawPuzzles". It works fine, I can do 680 pieces and can incorporate my own pictures. The app is free and I get enough puzzles. We also exchanged our Texas Cellphone numbers against Florida ones. Till next time........ It is official now, we exchanged our Texas Driver License for a Florida Driver License. We are here in this RV Park since May 15. 2015 We also had to work on the change of location and bank account with our insurances and such, which had been somewhat annoying. In the meantime I healed nicely from my mastectomies (please, see the last post in the page Travel Blog). If someone wants to visit us or send us something, please, use the following address: Dieter and Karin Bartsch 9683 CR 671 Bushnell, FL 33513 In case the office is closed, we live on Lot # 40 ( see header picture ). If you use your GPS to find us, ignore the note that you reached the address wanted on County Road 671, just drive on to the end ( our street is a "dead-end road anyway and Breezy Oaks is located at the end) and keep left, following the arrows on the park road (one direction only). The Breezy Oaks Office will give you a flyer and point out our site. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This page is the new Home Page now and has also blog format, meaning that we can make comments right here and on the page Travel Blog. To look into the sub pages, go with your pointer over the main tabs and the sub pages appear, then click on the one you want to see. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From all southern states we tried out, we found Florida the best to live in year-round. Especially this area of Bushnell is north at the rim of bad summer weather, which deals mostly with the Tampa Bay area. Bushnell is embedded in forests, which keep the heavy winds in check and we have no flooding. Florida is called the Sunshine State. No kidding! We love the sun......when sitting in the shade. The heat can be intense in the summer months, but so far we did not have triple digit temperatures, as we had in Arizona, California or Texas. No sandstorms here either - only Sandhill Cranes walking graciously through the neighborhood. We just settled down here at the right time before I found out that I had breast cancer. Recuperation and healing is done more at ease without having any itineraries in the back of my mind. Citrus Memorial Hospital served me very well and is only 28 miles away from here - no problem. Our permanent neighbors are very nice, as all residents here, - and we really like the big space we occupy and the view from our seating area to the woods at our left. In the future my postings will be less, there is nothing of importance to report unless one of us has health problems. We have established connections to doctors in this region. Otherwise we enjoy sitting outside and talking, sometimes with neighbors. Life goes on, even as a RV'er not traveling anymore... |
