Beginning of 2007 we purchased our used 40' Alfa Gold Fifth Wheel and were celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary March 25.
Both events are pictured in the "Introduction" page.
In April 2007 we took a cruise on Canyon Lake (Apache Trail) with the Steamboat "Dolly" http://www.viator.com/tours/Phoenix/Apache-Trail-Canyon-Lake-Steamboat-Cruise/d639-5350ATCLS-
together with many residents of Tierra Del Sol, where we had rented the lot we had owned and sold in 2006. That was a day of fun and relaxation!
Then the summerheat came in 3 digits. We did not have a truck to pull our heavy trailer - so we stayed "home".
And - - I wrote my book, which is reflected in the page "Karin the Author".

2008 -
Workcamping (Volunteering) for BLM in Susanville, California - being hosts at Hobo Camp, a trailhead of the "Biss Johnson Trail" and Picnic Area and helping out at weekends in the Historic Railroad Station Museum and sometimes explaining the Caboose to visitors. Trails all over the USA were created via the "Rails to Trails" program.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stan Bales, our beloved boss - a wonderful human being and hard worker. He loved the cleaning and maintaining work Dieter did and appreciated us. The Bizz Johnson Trail in the Susanville area and its embankments of the Susan River and Hobo Camp was free of cigarett butts and trash and always looking nice while we worked there. Even visitors noticed the difference to other years and pointed it out to Stan.....

We absolutely loved our place in the forest - and the work was interesting. The extensive picture gallery shows that, too, I think. Dieter walked while working every day about 5 miles. The gate had to be opened and close twice per day and Hobo Camp Road leading to it from the host's place is 1/2 mile long.
In 2011 we volunteered again....
The inserted pictures ( a small selection of them ) of us touring the Caboose and explaining the history to school children were taking by Stan.
